Cookie Policy
This policy explains how SQUARE3 Limited (“Sentra”, “we”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the website at sentra.city (the “Site”). It works alongside our privacy policy.
This Site sets no cookies, and stores nothing in your browser.
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no consent banner — because there is nothing to consent to. The home page used to carry a live Mapbox map that stored a tracking identifier you could not switch off; on 12 August 2026 we replaced it with a flat picture and that identifier is gone. The rest of this policy explains what the Site does load.
1.What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your browser or device. Cookies let a site recognise you between page loads or visits. Similar technologies include:
- Local storage and session storage — browser-based key/value storage;
- Pixels and web beacons — tiny invisible images that report that a request was made;
- Fingerprinting — combining device characteristics to create an identifier.
For brevity we use “cookies” in this policy to refer to all of the above. This Site uses none of them.
2.Our approach
- We use no cookies at all on this Site — not even strictly necessary ones, because the Site has no login, no forms and no session to maintain.
- We use no analytics. We do not count you, profile you, or record that you visited.
- We use no marketing or advertising cookies. No Google Ads, no Meta Pixel, no TikTok Pixel, no similar.
- We do not sell, share, or syndicate cookie-derived data — there is none to sell.
- We do not track you across other websites.
If we ever introduce additional cookies, we will update this policy and ask for consent before they are set. See section 5.
3.What this Site actually loads
Being precise is more useful than a blanket claim, so here is the whole list.
| Request | Where from | Sets a cookie? | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| The pages, styles, scripts and images | sentra.city (our own server) | No | Standard web-server access logs may record your IP address and user agent for security and abuse prevention. These are not cookies and are not linked to an identity. |
| The Space Grotesk typeface | Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) | No | Google Fonts does not set cookies, but loading a font is a request to Google’s servers, which means your IP address and browser details are visible to Google. |
| The map picture on the home page | sentra.city (our own server) | No | The home page shows a real map of a walking route. Until 12 August 2026 that was a live, interactive map loaded from Mapbox, which meant your IP address was visible to them and their software stored a randomly generated identifier in your browser to collect usage telemetry — with no way for you to decline it. We replaced it with a flat picture served from our own server. Nothing is loaded from Mapbox any more and nothing is stored in your browser. The map data is still theirs, so they are still credited beneath it. |
Google Fonts is the only third party this Site contacts. There are no embedded videos, social feeds, chat widgets, comment systems, consent platforms or tag managers. If we add one, it goes in this table before it goes on the page.
4.The Sentra app
Cookies are a web technology, so most of this policy does not apply to the mobile app. For completeness: the Sentra app does not use tracking, analytical, or third-party cookies, pixels, or tags. It may use strictly necessary functional storage on your device (for example, for session continuity, security, and core app functionality). That is exempt from the consent requirement under regulation 6(4) of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). See the privacy policy for what the app collects.
5.If we ever add analytics
We may want to know how many people read this Site. If we add anything that measures that, these are the rules we have set ourselves in advance:
- Strictly necessary cookies would be listed here for transparency even though PECR exempts them from consent.
- Analytics would require your consent, requested through a banner with Accept all and Reject all presented with equal prominence — no dark patterns, per ICO guidance. If you take no action, only strictly necessary cookies would be set.
- Your choice would be recorded and respected for 12 months, after which we would ask again, and you would be able to change it at any time from a link in the footer.
- We would prefer a privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics provider that does not build cross-site profiles. If the provider we choose is genuinely cookieless, no consent banner is needed and this section stays theoretical.
- Advertising cookies remain excluded. That is not a default we intend to revisit.
6.Managing cookies in your browser
You do not need to do anything on this Site, but every modern browser lets you view, restrict, and delete cookies:
- Safari — Settings → Privacy
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions
For mobile devices, see your operating system’s privacy and tracking settings: on iOS, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android, Settings → Privacy.
7.“Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control
This Site honours the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where your browser sends one. Since we set no non-essential cookies, there is nothing for it to switch off here — but if that ever changes, a GPC signal will be treated as a refusal of consent and as a withdrawal of any consent given earlier.
The legacy “Do Not Track” (DNT) flag has been deprecated by major browsers. We do not rely on it, but we treat it as a privacy preference where it is present.
8.Personal data collected via cookies
None, because there are no cookies. Server access logs and the Google Fonts request described in section 3 involve your IP address, which is personal data under UK GDPR. Our lawful basis for processing it is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) in operating and securing the Site. Retention for access logs is 30 days, as set out in section 9 of the privacy policy.
If analytics cookies were ever introduced, the lawful basis for those would be your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR and PECR regulation 6).
9.Children
The Site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly process children’s personal data through cookies on the Site.
10.Changes to this Policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site for at least 30 days, and if cookies are introduced, a consent banner will ask before anything is set. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
What changed in version 1.1 (3 August 2026): the speculative cookie table from the original draft was removed and replaced with section 3, which lists what this Site actually loads. The draft described cookies for a dynamic site that was never built; publishing that list would have described cookies that do not exist.
